CEBU CITY, Philippines - A hotline to report taxi drivers charging an additional P10 for their P30 flagdown rate is now available to the public.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board-Central Visayas (LTFRB-7) said passengers can call telephone numbers 231-6221 to report taxi drivers who charge P10 more for their fares ahead of July 24.
On that date, taxi drivers will charge a P40 flagdown rate for passengers.
The Metro Cebu Taxi Operators (MCTOA) urged taxi passengers to report any drivers who charge them with the P10-add-on rate.
MCTOA President Richard Cabucos said taxi passengers can get the plate numbers and names of the drivers, taxis or operators from the ID card displayed in every unit.
LTFRB-7 director Romulo Bernardes said they will accommodate complaints.
