Today, my favorite hero of the Philippines is remembered for his 147th birthday. He is one of the founders of the Katipunan (Kataas-taasan, Kagalang-galangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan), a revolutionary society that waged war against the Spanish regime in the Philippines.
Andres Bonifacio is remembered on his birthday rather than on the date of his death unlike most heroes and saints.
